A few years had passed, you and Vesemir somehow managed to rebuild the Kear, some parts too destroyed though, others not so much, you brought new things in, made a new home. The boys were taught differently this time, Vesemir made sure of that, they were fed and rested well, not like he had been. You stayed inside mostly, working on making this right again, most things were brought out into the main area for all use, no hidden knowledge, or formulas. Your body had fully healed, you felt like yourself again, you and Vesemir had managed to open a new way up to the Kear, the bridge closed off. The lower levels were in ruins of the Kear, where all the mutated monsters had been.
Vesemir took few contracts, he focused his time on training the boys, you focused on teaching them what you knew. You didn’t have to hide anymore, you grew your hair, worked on some armour fit for your body. You still trained, you danced with your sword in a quiet room, you meditated, listened to the sounds of the Kear.
You sat on the stone floor, eyes closed, and body relaxed, you could hear Vesemirs footsteps approaching as a knock came. The Witcher came in, sat in front of you and joined you in meditation.
“What have you done with the boys?” You asked slightly grinning.
“Sent them on a wild goose chase” Vesemir said no doubt grinning.
“This goose looks like a wolf. A drowner maybe?” You quizzed.
“It’s got wings” he said, and you opened your eyes, the boys weren’t ready to face something with wings.
“I’m jesting” Vesemir said opening his eyes also.
“They’re in the courtyard” he said, and you glared slightly.
“Why’re you here then?” You asked standing up.
“Thought we could practice” he said going over to the training swords.
“Practice?” You questioned as he chucked you a sword.
“Come on” Vesemir grinned and taunted making you sigh.
Your swords clashed together quickly and swiftly, he was quicker though, you grew tired easier also.
You ended on the floor many times, getting kicked or knocked over.
Vesemir tackled you, both of you landing on the ground with a thump. You groaned as Vesemir laughed above you.
“That’s not fair” you groaned as he continued.
“Cheat” you grumbled as he chuckled. You looked to him, time slowing almost, you were on your back, him above you, his hands holding yours above your head. His smile went away, and you frowned slightly, his grip loosened on your wrists, it went gentle almost. You stared at the Witcher heart pounding in your chest, he stared at you suddenly leaning closer before his breath intertwined with yours.
You wanted to speak but couldn’t as your lips parted, he glanced to them, and you licked them without thinking. Vesemirs eyes went back to yours his hand moving to hold yours, your fingers curling together. You let out a small shudder closing your eyes briefly before opening them again. You lifted your head up slightly and he pressed his lips to yours. You clenched his hands, eyes closing as he kissed you. You kissed back a little too eagerly, you’d be lying if you said you didn’t have feelings for the Witcher.
He rolled you both over, you rested on his hips while his hand cupped your cheek to keep you there. You were the one to break the kiss, you panted slightly you opened your eyes looking into Vesemirs, you flushed a bit realising what had happened as you sat back on his thighs embarrassed. You covered your mouth with your hand and looked away. Vesemir sat up holding your wrist and moving your hand from your mouth. You looked to him again a saddened look on your face, he pressed his lips to yours again. His arms wrapping around your body as he did. He kept you close, you pulled back and rested against his forehead as you caught your breath again. He sighed softly burying his face in your neck and tightening his grip. The action made your heart clench, you put your arms around his neck, gently running your hands through his hair. You heard little footsteps though and quickly got off The Witcher as the boys came in.
“Did she beat you?” Geralt asked head tilted. You went to speak but Vesemir cut you off and chuckled.
“She did, kicked my ass” He stood giving you a small nod making you frown.
“Woah” Lambert muttered staring at you.
“Hey, you’re too young to be looking” Vesemir snapped at the young man, and he flushed looking away. You chuckled softly shaking your head as you led them back out into the main area.
“You should train with us Y/n!” Eskel said.
“Four against one? Highly unfair” you said smiling.
“Come on” Remus dragged out.
“Maybe” You winked to them, and they perked up.
Teaching the boys was always a challenge, they wanted to fight anything and everything you read about to them, you would often roll your eyes their boosted ego’s reminding you of Vesemir. Vesemir was out scouting the mountains, checking that no monstrosity had come and decided to make home. You trained with the boys as promised, they were skilled, no doubt, being taught by Vesemir had paid off. You kept your strength low, though they were small and early Witcher’s they had higher strength than you are already.
“Haha!” Geralt had said triumphantly as he pointed the sword to your neck. You were on your back again on the hard gravel, you huffed in defeat, Geralt was proving the strongest out of the four. The little wolf had started to grow his hair back, though now it was white. You heard Vesemir riding back through the gate, you glanced up seeing him trotting back in on his horse before he stopped and hitched. He met your eyes and smirked at your current situation.
“Finally bested by a boy?” He called and you huffed.
“Yes, thank you for your observation” You rolled your eyes as he walked over. Geralt took some steps back as Vesemir held a hand down to you. You huffed letting him pull you up easily, you dusted off, giving Geralt a playful glare in the process.
“Go on think you’ve attacked her enough today” Vesemir cocked his head, and the boys ran off.
“I’m fine” You rolled your eyes, Vesemir often didn’t agree to you roughing around with the boys, though that’s how you grew up. After your shared kiss with him, things had changed, you couldn’t look at him long without flushing from embarrassment, he was more protective of you also though you were raised the same as him, a Witcher. His touches were softer, he helped you more with things, small things like moving boxes and bringing in produce. If a stranger had come people would think you were a family with four boys running about with swords in a creepy run-down castle. You didn’t know what to think though, was it a once off? Had he just grown comfortable around you again, like before?
Your mind often ran with questions like it did now. You sat by the fire stitching a piece of your armour, your face was scrunched you, hands not made for small tricky things.
“Fuck!” You snapped finally causing all the boys too look. You huffed putting down the piece and sighing. You had broken the needle in the process and sighed holding the two pieces.
“Want some help?” You sighed at Vesemir.
“No” You grumbled grabbing a new needle from your tin. You re-tried only to prick yourself more than once this time, Vesemir sat in front of you a slight smirk on his face as you huffed and pushed the item into his direction. He laughed taking it and completing the stitch for you before handing it back.
“Thank you” You muttered and sighed.
You both frowned though hearing a wailing cry, you quickly looked to the boys, but they were all there with the same frowns on their faces.
“That can’t be good” Vesemir muttered, and you nodded standing. You both grabbed your swords following where the sound came from. It was somewhere in the keep, around the lower levels, you heard panting and groaning also as you got closer.
“Stay here” Vesemir said climbing down the rubble. You cursed him quietly as he disappeared from sight before you followed him.
You heard Vesemir groan in pain and ran off towards the direction, you stared at the thing, it wasn’t a normal monster. You were quick to cut it down though, head coming off with one clean slice. You panted gripping your sword before you turned to Vesemir.
“I said stay” He grumbled holding his side.
“And that thing would’ve ate you!” You snapped helping him out of the small, ruined cave. The boys had waited at the top, peering down in curiosity.
“Get me a needle and string, and some cleaning herb” you said helping the man up.
You dragged him into the main area and forced him to sit down, he grunted in protest as you began to undo his armour.
“Vesemir” you said in a warning tone as the boys brought you back what you needed.
“Thank you” you said to them before continuing with his armour.
“Stop grumbling” You huffed as The Witcher complained. It made a puncture wound; it was sleeping with venom though.
“That’s gross” One of the boys said. You dabbed the wound carefully with a cloth while he drank something quickly. The venom gushed out quickly and almost splattered on you if you didn’t have the rag there.
“Warn me next time” You glared. The venom smelt horribly, you scrunched up your nose trying not to gag as you dressed his wound.
“Seems something kept living down there” He sighed.
“Looked burnt though, like it was regenerating” you said sticking the bandage on.
“Great” Vesemir sighed shrugging his shirt back on. You watched his muscles flex without thinking before busying yourself with putting the aiding items away in a little rush. You cursed yourself over and over not paying attention to Vesemir who was suddenly behind you. You jumped then your mind coming back to the present, he gave you a slight frown searching your face. You frowned back confused as to why he was suddenly so close and eyeing you. You shook your head slipping past him and going to tend to the fire.
